THE HEART OF US

OUR PEOPLE

We’re launching #THEHEARTOFUS, a feature that showcases the people who make our business brilliant!

Our people truly do make our business and are the reason we’ve grown so rapidly through word-of-mouth. So we want to share the achievements of the amazing people behind the Spherica and Synaptek brands.

Feature One - Healthy body, healthy mind

For our first feature, we are celebrating bringing together a healthy body and healthy mind, something that we’re keen to promote internally across both businesses.

Mental Health Awareness Training

We were delighted when we were recently able to send a number of delegates from both Spherica and Synaptek to partake in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England’s training course. This helps us to ensure that we stay true to our commitment where colleagues are free to talk about mental health and have the right support network in place with our dedicated and #MHFA certified Mental Health First Aiders.

Wellness Hub

We also have other additional support processes in place to help promote wellbeing inside and outside of the workplace, including a ‘Wellness Hub’, a space to seek new health and wellbeing resources, including meditation and mindfulness, yoga, workouts and more.

Internal Resources

Furthermore, we also offer internal resources to encourage employees to reach out, take regular breaks, and even automated birthday notifications to ensure all colleagues remain connected whilst offering a flexible and remote working policy.

Meet the Team

So for this feature, we are focussing on three members of our team who demonstrate how physical challenges can be so rewarding for mental health both inside and outside of the workplace.

Sophie Cook – Our Marketing Coordinator regularly runs to keep a healthy state of mind. She also competes with her local club and races most weekends, any distance, any terrain, rain or shine! She’s currently a Club Captain and is an avid promoter of the sport, actively encouraging people to get involved to aid their mental wellbeing.

Gez Austin – Our HR and Recruiting Coordinator embarked on an impressive walking challenge to complete 310,000 steps in a month to raise money for Samaritans, a charity close to her heart. Gez smashed the target and raised an impressive £351! She is a huge advocate for mental health, actively sharing and promoting meditation tips across the business.

Nathan Edwards – Our Head of Service Delivery is a big running fanatic and has completed a fair few marathons in his time. He recently ran the London Marathon for Tenovus Cancer Care, and he’s not stopping there! He soon plans to attempt a marathon world record… but he won’t reveal his plans, so watch this space!
