Project Overview
In February 2025, Valleys to Coast engaged Spherica to provide network architecture support, aiming to redesign and optimise their LAN and WAN infrastructure ahead of a planned hardware refresh.
Approach
We recommended starting with a series of Wireless Site Surveys using professional assessment tools to get a full picture of the current setup. This included:
- Analysing signal strength
- Identifying coverage gaps
- Spotting sources of interference
- Reviewing device connections in each area
The findings were presented in detailed heatmaps, showing current coverage and recommendations for improvement.
These insights informed the design of an optimised network structure, covering both wired and wireless LAN as well as WAN connections (internet, Azure, and branch office links). This included:
- Device organisation and network traffic flow
- IP address structure
- Security zoning across the network
Taking a collaborative, partnership-led approach, Spherica worked closely with the V2C team to assess the existing environment, design a future-proof architecture, and recommend the most suitable hardware to support their goals.
